THEIR STORY
Betony is the eldest of the twelve Linden sisters, and since her mother died she is the one the others look to. She keeps the household books, the younger ones' secrets and her own counsel. She dances better than anyone in the Marches, and nobody outside the family has seen her do it in two years. She is courteous to every watcher her father sends, and she has a cup of warm posset ready for each of them.
